......................................................................................................title, winning in two games, 21-20, 21-17. 

After a narrow 21-20 first game victory in the Boy's 19-Doubles final over Armando Ortiz and Ricardo Ruiz, Bastidas came up big with some great serves and smart court play.  Lemus was just as spectacular, driving the ball with ferocity and finishing rallies with great kills.  The team finished the second game 21-12.

In the final it looked like Sala had a surprisingly easy time amassing a 15-3 lead. Tyree crept back to 15-18 before serving off the court. Cesar went to 20 before Bastidas was able to get back into the service box and make 3 more points. At this point "wonder boy" served into the floor. Sala was able to capitalize and score 5 more leaving Tyree on 18.

2009 USHA Nationals 3-Wall Juniors Championships - Venice Beach, California.

 

 

 

VENICE BEACH, Calif. - The Tyree Bastidas juggernaut keeps rolling through juniors events. Bastidas defeated Fergal Collins,21-8, 21-19.  Collins made sure Bastidas earned every point, forcing the Brooklyn handballer to come back from a 9-0 deficit in the second game. 

Bastidas and partner Ricky Ortiz rolled in their doubles win over Fergal Collins and Ryan Sutherland, 21-7, 21-7.  By winning the Boy's 19-Singles and 19-Doubles, Bastidas secured his name among some of the best junior handballers. 

The last loss Bastidas suffered was in the 19-Singles semifinals to Billy O'Donnell at the 2007 Juniors in Elmhurst, N.Y.  This win marked the 7th consecutive final that Bastidas has won in 1, 3, and 4-wall junior national events.
